Alpine Canada Alpine has just released an important memo regarding Sport Accident Insurance Policy (SAIP) insurance which can be viewed in it's entirety via this link:

The most important key points are:

  1. The SAIP insurance policy broker will be changing this season.
  2. Terms of the new SAIP policy will be different than previous terms (these have not yet been revealed).
  3. As of June 30th all existing SAIP documentation is considered void.
  4. All FIS members participating in events after June 30 MUST BE REGISTERED WITH BC ALPINE FOR 2014/15 season before they participate in order for coverage to be valid.

As the registration database does not turn over to the new season until July 1st, this may pose a problem for some athletes. In order to facilitate this issue please have your registrar or coach email me with a list of athletes which need to be active as of July 1st, and those athletes will be put forward on the new season immediately.

Important: Registration Information and Fees for the upcoming 2015 season

TIMELINES:

First and most important to note is that registration timelines have been shifted to directly correspond with insurance coverage timelines.  Registration will commence as of July 1 and run from time of registration through to the end of June 30th, 2015.

The FIS registration deadline has now been extended to September 20th, 2014.  FIS registration forms and information can be downloaded via THIS LINK.
IMPORTANT NOTE: FIS athletes applying for a Canada West All Areas Pass must still be fully registered and have applied for the pass by August 15th, 2014.

NEW INSURANCE OPTION:

All categories will remain the same as previous years, however a new insurance add-on will be introduced for National Competitor Card athletes interested in obtaining SAIP insurance coverage.  The insurance can now be purchased directly through BC Alpine at $155.  This insurance is recommended for non-FIS level athletes who travel to compete outside of their province and/or country regularly.  Clubs with NC athletes interested in obtaining SAIP should contact Keven Dubinsky directly.

PRICE INCREASES:

Registration costs for most programs have been increased by Alpine Canada.  This increase will impact all registration categories – please refer to the breakdown of all fees with highlighted changes for the 2015 season available at http://bcalpine.com/content/bcalpine/ProgramFees/?Current#feeBreakdown

REGISTRATION DATABASE:

BC Alpine's online registration and club administration database is getting a major facelift and a series of new features for the upcoming season.  We hope to make the process streamlined, simplify the signing of waivers for members and bring the important information directly to the front of your club administrators/registrars screens.

With these changes we will also be looking to implement an API based process for clubs who would like to automate the process from their pre-existing online registration system.  Those clubs interested in taking part in discussions on how the API would work best for them, please contact Keven Dubinsky directly.
