Race Results – How to find them and how to upload them on BCAlpine.com

Viewing Results: http://bcalpine.com/rss/?FEED=results
In this day and age, I hope most people have seen an RSS feed and have on their computer some way to view them. If not, ask your friends or coworkers to help show you how to as you will be amazed at the wealth of information available through them. BC Alpine has been running an RSS feed of our news feed now for about four years, and this year we will be also running an RSS feed of our posted race results. You will see the feed link on the front page of the BC Alpine website under the calendar object on the left. Keep this in your feed reader to stay on top of posted results.
Of course the results will also show up on the BC Alpine website as soon as they are posted. When you are on the BC Alpine homepage, use the pull down on the left under “BC Alpine Calendar” to navigate to a list of “Latest Results” to see what has recently been submitted.

Reporting Results: http://results.bcalpine.com
Using this results uploading page instead of emailing the results in will increase the speed in which the results will be posted to the ski racing audience as well as increase the accuracy of which the results are reported. If you are a race secretary or working with a race secretary this season please make sure this URL is well known in the race office.  You can alternatively find the link on the BC Alpine website under Points / Results Upload.

BC Alpine email and connectivity problems

BC Alpine’s office has experienced a little set back with our main server blowing up on us.  We’re working on a permanent solution, however for now we will still have email connection problems with many of our people.  Emails are currently not being lost, however our employees can not receive them until our problem is corrected, so please be patient while we iron this out.

Additionally, until a temporary storage location was put up, we went a few hours with emails being lost yesterday to anyone @bcalpine.com.  If you sent email to anyone @bcalpine.com yesterday, we reccomend re-sending your email again to make sure they get a copy of it once we get our situation corrected.

We also apologize to the clubs that are hosting their websites in our server, as they will also be offline until we achieve a solution.

BC Alpine Member Update & Alpine Canada Waiver Signing Site Now Online

New for this season, BC Alpine has created a portal for members to log in and update their contact information with us, sign the ACA waiver (Required to complete your registration this season) as well as manage other account information.  In order to log in your club needs to have registered you with BC Alpine, and you must have access to the email address on record for your account.

NOTE: it is MANDATORY this year that all members sign the ACA waiver either in person and give it to the club or via this online system.  Our database will be tracking all signatures and members who have not signed using one of these methods will NOT be covered by our insurance.  This applies to all members, not just racers, so even if you are a parent or supporter at the club be sure to go through the steps of making sure you are covered!

The link to log in can be found under the RESOURCES tab on the BC Alpine website and is entitled "Member Info Update".

Greenbook 2007-08 Photo Contest – Online Voting is now open! GO VOTE

Photo submissions have come in fast and furious since we posted the news about the 2007-08 Greenbook cover contest, making it difficult for the BC Alpine staff to decide which should end up as the semi-finalists for the online voting.  As difficult as it was, we did however manage to narrow it down to four images, and now the choice is up to you!  Voting has commenced and will continue until September 13th.

The winner of the contest will receive a Descente softshell jacket, will see their photo on the cover of the Greenbook and (of course) get BRAGGING RIGHTS for an entire year!

View finalists and vote for your favorite now!
