Rob Boyd joins Whistler Mountain Ski Club coaching team.

Whistler Mountain Ski Club named Rob Boyd as the new Kinder II Head Coach at the Club on July 16th, 2002.

Whistler Mountain Ski Club named Rob Boyd as the new Kinder II Head Coach at the Club on July 16th. “This is a great day for juvenile ski racing and a great day for our programs” said Club President Tony Holler. “Rob is a true winner and inspiring leader and we feel honoured and privileged he has agreed to join our coaching team,” he added.

Boyd, who retired from World Cup competition in 1997, won three World Cup downhill races, finished on the podium six times and had 28 top 15 finishes in his 12 year career on the Canadian National Downhill Team. During that time he also qualified for six World Championships and three Olympics. Speaking at the time of his appointment Rob said” this opportunity with the Club has started a new exciting chapter in my life and opened another door”.

Bruce out of Office



Those wanting to chat with the small man in the office should give him a call today or tomorrow as he leaves for France Wednesday evening to watch Mr. Armstrong take the Tour De France.
So where is everyone else?
Gordie Bowles is due back tomorow from his vacation, just in time for upcoming dryland camps.
Sue-Lynda Bate is due back next week from her vacation/honeymoon, and should be posting pictures for all of us to see on Monday.
Keven Dubinsky will be taking his wife to the hospital for surgery tomorrow, and will be taking care of her through the next few days, due back in the office next Monday.

BC Alpine Ski Team Update



The BC Alpine Ski Team has a Dryland camp coming up at Whistler on the 19-22 of July. There will be physical testing with Dr. Bob Morrell, and psychological testing with Dana Sinclair.
New programs will be distributed at this time, and new dryland procedures will be tested to get our athletes ready for the upcoming ski season.

BC Alpine wishes our BC Alpine Ski Team the best of luck in the upcoming season.

FIS REGISTRATION DUE DATE



Today is the day. If FIS registrations are not at the BC Alpine office by the end of the day today, the fees for registration move up to $270.00 from the regular registration fee of $170.00.


I am only in the office until 5:00pm today, so if you haven't got your forms in to me yet, jump in your car and see if you can outrun the clock!
